🏐 9 & Under Netball

Where the love of netball begins! 💙

Our 9 & Under competition is the perfect introduction to the wonderful world of netball for young players who are ready to take the next step from learning the basics to playing as part of a team!

Designed especially for new and developing netballers, our 9 & Under competition provides a fun, supportive and encouraging environment where players can build confidence, develop their skills and, most importantly, enjoy being part of a team.

🌟 What to Expect

Teams participate in a fixtured competition played under modified Netball Australia rules, making the game age-appropriate and enjoyable for young players.

Our umpires provide plenty of support, guidance and encouragement throughout each game, helping players learn the rules and understand the game as they play.

One coach can take the court without interfering with the umpiring decisions. 

There are no finals in the 9 & Under competition - the focus is on participation, development, teamwork and having fun!

👧 Player Eligibility

Players must be 7–9 years of age as at 31 December of the competition year to be eligible for this age group.

Ideally, players will have previously participated in a NetSetGO program or similar introductory netball program, although the competition is designed to support players as they continue developing their skills.

🏐 Game Day

Games are played on Saturday mornings between 8:00am and 11:00am at:Eric Boardman Stadium, Sunbury

All games are played indoors, meaning young players can enjoy netball in a great environment regardless of the weather.

Games are not fixtured on long weekends, public holidays or during Victorian school holidays, giving families plenty of opportunity to enjoy their weekends and school holidays together.

We welcome:

• ⭐ Independent/community teams

It's a fantastic opportunity for schools, clubs, friends and families to get a team together and experience the fun of playing netball!

💙 A Safe & Supportive Environment

At Sunbury Netball Association, we are committed to providing a positive, inclusive and safe environment for all participants.

All players, coaches, officials and families are required to abide by the SNA By-Laws and Codes of Conduct.

📝 Registration & Fees

All team and player registrations are completed through the NetballConnect platform.

As part of the registration process, each participant's annual Netball Victoria membership is paid. This membership provides insurance coverage and other benefits for participants.

2026 Season Fees

• Early Team Registration: $30 + GST

• Match Fee: $75 + GST per match

• Byes: No match fee is charged when your team has a bye

A season invoice, including the Team Registration Fee, will be issued to the Team Manager or Club.

Commences: Saturday 25 July 2026
Concludes: Saturday 28 November 2026
Game Times: 8:00am – 11:00am
